JYP Entertainment‘s fiery girl group introduced a new album and a music video for its title track, “Mafia In the morning.”
The song describes someone who is bidding their time, cleverly disguising their affection, and confident that the person they like will fall into their arms in the end. J.Y. Park co-wrote the lyrics with KASS, LYRE, and danke (lalala studio). He also co-composed the music alongside KASS, LYRE, earattack, and Lee Haesol.
According to the members, the song is inspired from the popular mafia pastime (also called “Werewolf” which was created by Dimitry Davidoff in 1986) that pits two groups against each other, “Mafia” and “Villagers,” in a social deduction game.
ITZY’s fourth mini-album, titled GUESS WHO?, is available in three different physical versions and includes six songs in total. It comes around eight months after the group’s last album comeback with “Not Shy” in August 2020.
